Safety on and near the railroad is of concern to the whole community. This course acquaints participants with prevention and intervention programs to promote a safer pedestrian and motorist environment in neighborhoods through which trains travel.
Participants will become familiar with the basics of railroad operation and train movement, laws concerning trespassing on railroad property, and crossing violations.
Participants will become acquainted with the Railroad Police and their interaction with the community and other law enforcement agencies.
Upon completion of the course, participants will understand the legal implications and dangers of interfering with trains and the importance of mobilizing the entire community in an anti-trespassing effort.
