Participants in this interactive workshop will examine ethical issues, questions, and problems related to Community Policing. Emphasis is placed on the consequences of ethical and unethical behavior and the importance of personal character and moral development in the professional life of a community police officer.
Participants will identify concerns facing law enforcement agencies and their leaders, and will explore the purpose and benefits of organizational values.
Topics include the discernment between right and wrong, the ability to choose one's own response, why some police officers go "bad," and the role of an organization's vision and mission statement in directing its actions. An interactive CD is available for this module.
